Offering year-round guided hiking & ice cave tours including Castner Glacier, the most visited glacier near Fairbanks in winter, along with a range of other glacier & mountain routes suitable for everyone from the beginner to the most advanced. Northern lights photo tours are available from late August through mid-April. Custom guided landscape & wildlife photography tours are available for casual or serious photographers. All tours are PRIVATE and operate between Delta Junction and Paxson along the Richardson Highway corridor, approximately 1.5 to 2.5 hours southeast of Fairbanks in the Alaska Range.

The mountains surrounding Black Rapids, Alaska are full of amazing sights and hidden gems that are mostly unknown to tourists and even local Alaskans. This quiet area of the Alaska Range features scenery on par with Denali National Park but without all the people. Steep, snow-capped mountains dominate the skyline. Scenic rivers, creeks, and glaciers fill the mountain valleys. A short hike above tree line leads to impressive vistas, while a long hike into the alpine can take you to epic views that few people have ever seen. This area also features abundant wildlife including moose, caribou, Dall sheep, bison, wolves, coyotes, bears, lynx, eagles and more, along with majestic viewing locations for the northern lights.

I offer private guided hikes and snowshoe tours year-round in these mountains and northern lights tours from late August through mid-April. There are no hourly tour schedules here, no out-of-state college kids herding tourists, no tour boats crammed full of people. You won’t find any signs telling you which way to go, and on many routes you're more likely to see moose and other wildlife than people during your tour. It's just you and the wilderness at your own pace. This area features the closest accessible glaciers to Fairbanks, and the next nearest are more than twice as far away! For a nominal fee, I can also double as your personal adventure photographer. Visit my website for more tour information, rates, policies, photos, and more!
